Unsun Cosmetics Inc. is a Los Angeles-based cosmetics company which was established by Katonya B. Breaux in 2016, with the intention of providing beauty and skin protection to women of all skin tones. Breaux’s ability to identify specific needs, accompanied by her entrepreneurial spirit, led her to create an all-natural SPF 30 sunscreen that does not leave a white residue, which is quite common with other natural products used by women of color. More importantly, she wanted to create a product that would be inclusive of all skin tones – light and dark. Breaux has grown Unsun Cosmetics to include hand, face and lip products – but more importantly as a platform to educate people on the importance of sunscreen in all forms.
