The general terms and conditions of use below govern access to and navigation of businesslist.africa (herein referred to as the website). Users are therefore requested to carefully read and understand the terms and conditions of use before using the website. By using businesslist.africa, users agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of use, as displayed at the moment of accessing the website. 

Failure to agree with the terms and conditions means that use of the website is forbidden. businesslist.africa shall not be responsible for the correctness of information or content available on the website. Information on the website is provided “as is” without any express or implied warranty, including but not limited to warranties as to the possibility of sale, fitness for purpose and absence of breach of the intellectual property of third parties.

Under no circumstances may businesslist.africa be held liable for any direct, indirect, special, consequential or other loss or damage caused by the use of or reliance on information on the website or on any other website to which that site forwards, including but not limited to failure to make a gain, interruption to business and loss of programs or other data, even where businesslist.africa has expressly warned of the risk of such loss or damage.

Users shall therefore be responsible for any content they place on the website. Users also undertake to refrain from placing any listing or content on businesslist.africa which:
* Is liable and constitutes a breach of public order or legal provisions, including those against defamation, the protection of minors, and minorities;
* Is pornographic or degrading in nature, or involves arms, weapon systems and dual-use technologies which could potentially be used to degrade the rights of Africans; and
* Breaches the rights of third parties, including any intellectual property rights, copyrights, or the right to privacy, or that belittles or denigrates the activities or reputation of any company.

businesslist.africa will therefore not be held liable for content or information posted by users or the content of third parties online, even if that information is accessible via businesslist.africa. Additionally, businesslist.africa reserves the right, which it may exercise at its discretion, to examine, modify or delete any content that is considered to be illegal, defamatory, derogatory, offensive or otherwise inappropriate. 

Similarly, businesslist.africa may not be held liable and extends no warranty in respect of the websites or links which users access from businesslist.africa. By accessing a website that does not form part of businesslist.africa, users acknowledge and accept that businesslist.africa has no control over any content and information on that website. Users are also responsible for protecting their computer equipment against viruses and other elements of a destructive nature.

businesslist.africa products and services, together with all virtual design elements of businesslist.africa, are registered trademarks, protected by intellectual and industrial property rights held by businesslist.africa and its associated companies. These elements may not be used or replicated without the express written permission of businesslist.africa. 

Gathering content and information from businesslist.africa through the use of robots or any other means is prohibited. businesslist.africa shall be entitled to modify these general terms and conditions of use at any time, without informing the user. The updated version of the general terms and conditions of use shall come into effect at the moment it is displayed on businesslist.africa, at which point the users shall be deemed to have accepted them. The reproduction, modification or distribution of businesslist.africa design elements in any form and in any manner whatsoever is prohibited without the express written permission of businesslist.africa.

As part of the creation of their user account, users must provide a certain amount of information about themselves and must choose a username and password. Users undertake to provide full, accurate and up-to-date information, and to make any necessary modifications to that information to ensure it remains up-to-date. businesslist.africa reserves the right to suspend or withhold permanently the use of services, if any information provided by a user proves to be inaccurate, incomplete or not up-to-date. Users are also solely responsible for keeping their password confidential. Users are wholly liable for any use of their usernames and passwords, whether or not they have authorised that use.

This Privacy Statement explains how businesslist.africa collects, uses, and discloses your personal information in connection to operation of the website. We only collect and use personal information to assist us administer our business and provide you with the services you request. We collect information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to our newsletter or respond to a survey.

We use the information you provide to us for the specific purposes for which you provide the information, as stated at the time of collection, and as otherwise permitted by law. The information we collect from you may be used to:

We will also take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is correct and up-to-date. Please note that you are responsible for your own username and password safety and security on businesslist.africa. We recommend choosing a strong password and changing it frequently. Please do not use the same login details across multiple websites.

We also implement a variety of security measures, including offering use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment Gateway provider’s database. The information is only accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems and kept confidential. Please note that after a transaction, your private information will not be stored on our servers. Our servers and website are security scanned and fully verified on a daily basis to protect you online.

We use cookies to help us understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and interaction, so that we can offer better site experiences and tools for you in the future. We may contract third-party service providers to assist us better understand our site visitors. These service providers are, however, not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us directly conduct and improve our business. For example, when you share content using a social media sharing button, such as Facebook or Twitter, the social network that has created the button will record that you have done this. Because of how cookies work, we cannot access these cookies. Similarly, the third parties cannot access data in cookies used by us. However, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function proficiently.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal information. This is a social impact project, borne out of altruism, which aims to connect Africa-based MSME's with global value chains. Revenue generated from businesslist.africa is used to maintain the website, keep our incredible customer service team happy and support small business owners in rural Africa. We detest and have no business whatsover trading personal information for money. Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or advertise third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.
